The contrast between the “natural rusticity of livestock” and the “sophistication of the application of genetics” is present in the contrast between the use of “rustic construction technology in masonry” and the “contemporaneousness of steel technology”.
In the capital of Zebu, it is a selling point of the Brahman genetics.
With a capacity for 150 animals, the cattle farm of Uberaba is a kind of showcase of functional animals, also acting as a unit for genetic multiplication, with programs of embryo transfer and in vitro fertilization. The objective is to offer zebu genetics directed to the production of meat of high quality.
There are two main blocks, RECEPTION and STABLE, and, among them, the “OPEN ARENA” or “pista”, where cattle are shown.
The RECEPTION consists of indoor arrival, reception / lounge, female and male bathrooms, kitchen and service structure, and a porch with barbecue, for 100 people seated, adjoining the OPEN ARENA.
On the second floor there is an office, a suite and two bedrooms for occasional use of owners, family and guests.
The STABLE, with 20 bays for animals, has at its ends one office, meeting room, storage and lodgings with toilets for ranchers.
The colour of the buildings is that of the soil of the region.
Most of the frames come from demolitions on other owners’ farms, including windows.
